For those of you who did backflips when we announced John Perlich and David Whitt's call for submissions for their latest mythology book There and Back Again: Mythology and the New Millennium, we managed to snag the Table of Contents for their first book: Sith, Slayers, Stargates, and Cyborgs: Modern Mythology in the New Millennium.

The section "Mythology and Biology: Sith and Cyborg" covers an interesting mix of Star Wars cannon and compares Cyborg of the Teen Titans with the Frankenstein Myth.

Meanwhile, the next section - "New Frontiers: Cylons and Stargates; Serenity and the City" - gives us the mythological lowdown on Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Firefly/Serenity and one of the most underrated sci-fi films of all time: Dark City.

If you're a Buffy or Star Trek fan, fear not, the third section - Critiquing the Myth and Looking to the Future: Slayers, Starfleet, and the Schwartz - has you covered. And hey, any academic text that has Spaceballs in it is worth it's weight in gold.
